A fast cruising 44 foot catamaran, the Knysna 440 won the 2000 Cape to Rio in its class on handicap and line-honours. Designed for both the charter market as well as for comfortable blue water sailing, the all-new and dramatically designed Knysna 480 combines unequivocal quality and essential style with the painstaking engineering of Naval Architect Angelo Lavranos – a combination that ensures reliability, optimum space utilisation and extremely safe handling.

The Knysna 480 catamaran has been expertly designed and constructed in the proud South African boat building tradition and will undoubtedly follows the family heritage and successes of her smaller sister, the Knysna 440 in combining impeccable quality, style and safe boat handling.

New features of the Knysna 480 include: Wrapped around windows for unsurpassed 360 degree views, whether standing or sitting; A large open-plan cockpit and saloon allowing free flow between them – ideal for charter and entertaining; An all-new Bimini – smartly integrated a modern, strong  coach roof the entire width of the cockpit, giving the yacht a timeless yet contemporary look; The galley may be carefully planned by the new boat owner while the yacht is in the building process and compliments the large cockpit area, making it an ideal charter vessel;  The bridge deck has been elevated. Wide open deck space and aft-walkways ensure safe boat handling and freedom of movement; and interior styling is what could be described as “clean and futuristic”.
