Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing and Du Toit Yacht Design have recently launched the Open Ocean 800 Luxury Expedition Catamaran. This impressive catamaran is expertly built by Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing and designed by Du Toit Yacht Design, both of Cape Town, South Africa. Ultra Vires, the Open Ocean 800 Expedition Catamaran, is the largest of the cats in Two Ocean Marine’s Open Ocean series, and the largest power catamaran ever to be launched in South Africa.
Southern Wind Shipyard launched Seawave, the fourth hull in the successful SW 102 mini-series and the second in a Raised Saloon configuration. Seawave measures 104ft and heads to the Med, where she will officially be presented as a world premiere at both the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show in September. The South African Pavilion at the Strictly Sail Miami International Boat Show, alongside catamarans by Knysna Yacht Company, Maverick Yachts, Royal Cape Catamarans and St Francis Marine. Cruiser Cats showcased the new Havana 42 at the Yacht & Brokerage Show.
Southern Wind launched the third yacht in its 94-foot mini-series “Lady G”. The launch took place in February in Cape Town’s commercial harbour, in the presence of the proud owner and his family. “Lady G” will leave South Africa within the next two months and head towards the Mediterranean Sea. South African boat building was represented, at the 2014 Strictly Sail Miami International Boat Show, by Cruiser Cats, Knysna Yacht Company, Maverick Yachts, Royal Cape Catamarans and St. Francis Marine.
